October 30, 1915

Father,

I though of waiting until you responded, but I couldn't wait to tell you what happened.

As I said in my last letter, the ten scouts said they would be at my game when I pitched. Guess what? Not only ten came. But scouts from all sixteen United Baseball clubs were at the game. There were also the three National League scouts there, as well.

I'm very overwhelmed. A few of them were mentioning money. They said that there is no reserve clause in their league, meaning that after five years on one team, players are free to sign on whatever team they'd like.

I have more details, but will wait for your letter. I'm a little behind on my studying, so I must go.

Love,

Your Son
