April 18, 1915

Son,

I'm doing well. Mother says hello. So does Jack and Dot.

It was a pleasure coming to visit you. Me and your mother are very proud of you. It looks like you are having a good time at Columbia.

I wish the paper out here in Iowa would cover college ball. Unfortunately, as you know the only updates I get on your team is from you. They started to cover the United Baseball Association. Bound for failure, if you ask me.

Good luck in your next game, but do not let it interfere with your studies. I hope I have taught you well enough that you know baseball comes behind your academics.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Love,

Your Father
